Design-focused development

You will notice that our projects include a very specific design team and it is completely on purpose! We have selected a team of people to create and deliver our projects, and your new home, based on their experience delivering homes in the Canberra climate, accolades for outstanding work and ability to advise us on best practice design principles.

We design homes for first home buyers, those trading up, downsizers and investors and we need to be able to ensure that your specific need for your home is included in our design brief and the end result. We work with Kasparek Architects to ensure every architectural detail is just right, from the way that sunlight enters your home to ensuring your privacy. You will notice that our artist’s impressions of a selection of our homes include solid surfaces to terraces and balconies –

those who seek a more private lifestyle can have this choice in an urban setting.

“Nothing happens by accident. Every shape, every angle has a purpose. From the dimensions of the floorplan to the size of the windows, the whole concept works together in carefully orchestrated harmony. This isn’t just a space for your stuff—it’s a space for your soul.”

Our interior design partner, Department of Design (DOD) have an extensive library of interior resources at their office in Fyshwick and use a large collaborate central table to plan out their visual inspiration for Base Developments. One of the things we love the most about working with DOD is that they are regularly engaged to design the interiors of individual private clients and apply the same standards, quality and thought process to our projects and your home. They really take the time to consider the surroundings, the floorplans and get creative!

According to DOD, “your home is a reflection of who you are. That’s why all Elody terraces and apartments are available in two interior styles—each one a clever symphony of colour and contrast. Avis and Louisa are all light and energy, while Darcy and Victoria are dark, deep, and contemplative.”

And one of the best ways to see how successfully our architecture and interior design comes together is to look at our past projects. Our interiors at Luna, which is our most recently completed work, are soft and neutral to allow you to style your home to your desire, yet modern enough that your home is going to look new and relevant for years to come. In the attached image, a lighter colour scheme is easily coupled with dark timber furniture and darker styling pieces showcasing just how versatile our homes can be.
