Talking MIO Design with DNA Architects

MIŌ Googong is designed by Canberra’s most awarded medium density architect, DNA Architects. Fortunately, Director, Michael Sergi was only too happy to give future buyers an insight into the design inspiration and process behind the development

What was the design inspiration for MIŌ?

The direction of the project was really people and community focused. The design had to ensure every residence had high levels of amenity which is why you can see all the townhouses are generously sized, functional and constructed of high-quality materials with longevity in mind. They also have access to great communal space and gardens.

MIŌ will make a design statement for all those who travel to Googong – located in prime position as you enter the township. What feelings did you want to evoke for visitors to the township, and future MIŌ buyers?

A major part of the design philosophy for this project was to reinforce the high level of quality that has been produced by the Googong township land developer, PEET. Googong is a great township with incredible levels of amenity and MIŌ needed to reflect this as the main focal point at the entry. We wanted to ensure that visitors and residents alike would get an appreciation for how great Googong is and feel excited by architecture that is quite bold, striking and different.

What is one particular highlight about MIŌ’s design that you would like future buyers to know?

The planning is very well thought out to ensure there is minimal wasted space and the future occupants will get the most out of every square metre that they purchase.
